The botanical name of this plant is Cinnamomum tamala. It belongs to the Lauraceae family.

The Tej Patta tree is native to India, China, Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. In India, it grows in the tropical and subtropical Himalayas, the Khasi hills, the Nilgiris, and the foothills of the Himalayas in Sikkim. They grow at an altitude of 950-2400 meters. It also grows natively in the Mediterranean regions.

  • You need 2-3 Bay leaves, 8-10 Tulsi leaves, black peppercorns ½ teaspoon, 1-inch cinnamon sticks, ½ teaspoon ginger juice, 2 teaspoons honey.
  • Take water in a pan about 200 – 300 ml and heat it until it boils.
  • Add all the ingredients and let it simmer for 10 minutes on low heat.
  • Add honey and drink it hot.
