Dengue is a viral infection that affects between 50 million to 450 million people worldwide each year. The dengue virus is transmitted by five varieties of mosquitoes and does not have any cure. You can alleviate some of the secondary symptoms, however, using Ayurvedic home remedies.
Dengue fever symptoms
Dengue is known as ‘breakbone fever’ because it causes severe pain in the bones. Symptoms include sudden onset fever, reddish to purple skin rash, and muscle pain. You also have headaches and body aches. The food becomes tasteless. More than three-quarters of the cases are asymptomatic, or the symptoms are only slight. About 1% of the cases prove fatal, and 5% remain severe. When it is severe, it causes bleeding and severe platelet decrease that makes the blood pressure drop to dangerously low levels. You may also experience common cold during this period.
