Apamarga plant is an annual and perennial herb which is small, erect with a woody base. It grows to about 2 metres in height. It has simple, angular, and ribbed stems that are purple colored.

Leaves are ovate attached to the stem on both sides. Achyranthes Aspera Flowers are greenish white, and the sub-cylindric seeds are reddish brown in colour. The seeds remain rounded at the base.
