The Acacia Nilotica or babool tree grows in the wild to a height of 12 meters. The bark of the tree is brown and forms cracks along the length. The branches are brown, soft, and bent with new branches slippery and oily. The leaves are bipinnate, very small, and form groups of 4-9 leaves. Flowers are round and yellow and grow in bunches of 4-6 each. Their pods are 3-6 inches long with 8-12 flat seeds. The wood of the plant is used for burning.

It grows natively in Arabia and West Asia. You find it growing in Punjab and Rajasthan in India. They grow in the wild forest regions. The tree flourishes in dry arid regions.
